I stumbled across this blog on the Daily What, which has photos by a street photographer named Vivian Maier. She was a nanny in Chicago in the 50s and 60s. They were discovered in a box by a man named John Maloof.
I have to say, her work is absolutely fantastic and breathtaking! I'm not sure that even begins to cover it.
Golly, if only I could take photography like that...
NOT A HIPSTER

I'd catch a grenade...
Look at that goofy girl there... It's a wonder she has any friends. I swear, this tiny purse I thought I'd never use is my new favorite thing ever. I mean, it holds practically nothing because it's so tiny, which makes it highly impractical, but I just love it!
Spent the day at the Vancouver Mall with my best friend Emma. It was just way too fun, the two of us walking around, talking about everything. I miss those days when we went to the same school. I only see her on weekends now! :(
But hanging out with her totally makes up for all the time I spend with theatre guys who make dirty jokes... Oh ho ho.
Romy vest |
Being the thrifty person that I am, I can't stand paying anything above 20 bucks. So these were good finds.
Romy vest: $24.50, but 50% off, with an additional 10% off the entire purchase. So $12.08 was what I paid. INNER ASIAN IS PLEASED.
Fuego headbands: $4.80 or 3 for $10. And they were on this giant rack of awesome rainbow goodness...
Today... was an excellent one.
BONUS: If you help me think of a name for my blog, I'll give you a cookie.

Hello Internet, it's another crazy!
You know, I've never really figured out how it is when people first start a blog. I mean, is there always some sort of awkward introduction post or do people just get into whatever it is that they're doing? Is there supposed to be some sort of deep thinking that goes into these, or do I just spew whatever the heck I'm thinking about at the moment? Quite mind-boggling!
You know, I like interesting. But around here, everyone dresses the same. It's a sad cloud of black (and similar shades) clothing, or a crowd of similarly dressed drones. I once showed up to school wearing the exact same rainbow-striped sweater and green tank top as another girl, and her friends kept looking at me.
But here it is, the first post of my new blog. I can't even figure out a proper name for it. I'm just one of those indecisive people who will stare at a computer screen for hours, hoping that a magical faerie by the name of Linda or Shaniqua or something will appear to me and transform me into some sort of literate blogging genius. Not that I'm illiterate... Just indecisive. Yeah.
American Eagle shirt, Papaya skort (yes, skort), and F21 oxfords |
However, I haven't seen her wear it since. ;)
My point is, my blog is just my little way of reaching to that little paradise of mine where everyone is an individual and not tasteless clones. After all, there's nothing fun about robots (although in those movies they always grow minds of their own. Let's ignore the part where they proceed to kill everybody).
I just want to express myself. :)
